I wrote about how to get the good high quantity links. Fast forward 8 months and Google has made 2 major alternations to its rules -- first to target spamming/scraper websites, followed by the bigger Panda update that targeted "low quality" websites. furthermore, Google punished JCPenney, Forbes, and Overstock.com for "Suspicious" connecting practices.

What's it all intend for link builders? Good, it's time we say ByeBye to low quality link building altogether.

'But The Competitors Are Doing It' Isn't an Excuse

This may be difficult for few link builders to absorb, particularly if you're arriving from a explore standpoint and you see that rivals for a particular keyword are dominating because of their thousands upon thousands of pure spam links.

But here are two things you must think about searching low quality, high volume links in your analysis:

Maybe it isn't the links that got the rival where they are today. Maybe they are a huge enough brand with a best adequate reputation to be where they are for that exceptional keyword.

If the supra doesn't implement, then perhaps it's simply a matter of time before Google cracks down even more, giving no weight to those spamming backlinks.

Because, let's look it. You don't need to be the SEO firm behind the next JCPenney.com or Overstock.com link building gone wrong story!

How to Determine a Valuable Backlink Opportunity

How can you find whether a website you're trying to benefit a link from is worthful? Here are few "warning" signs as to what Google may have or finally deem as a low-quality site.

Lots of ads: If the website is covered with 05 blocks of AdSense, Kontera text links, or other advertising lumps, you might want to steer away from them.

Lack of quality content: If you can acquire your article sanctioned instantly, opportunities are this isn't the correct article network for your needs. If the article network is sanctioning spun or poorly written content, it will be tough for the algorithm to watch your "diamond in the rough." Of course, when a website like Suite101.com, which has one inferno of an review process, gets Gouged, then extreme moderation may not needfully be a sign of a secure website either (in their case, ads were the more likely issue).

Lots of content, low traffic: A weblog with a Google PR of 6 probably seems like a bang-up place to spam a comment. But if that blog doesn't have keen authority in terms of traffic and social sharing, then it may be lay on the list of websites to be devalued in the future. PageRank didn't save some of the websites in the Panda update, viewing there are many websites with PageRank 7 and above (containing a PR 9).

Lack of moderation: Kind of goes with the above, exclude in this case I intend blog comments and directories. If you check a ton of spamming links on a page, you don't want yours to go next to it. Unless you consider it a spammy link, and then furthermore ability to you to connect the rest of them.
